Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
An Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) defines the type of company most likely to benefit from your product and deliver long-term value. It includes firmographics, technographics, buying triggers, and pain points.
Early-stage startups often mistake ICP for their "target market." A true ICP is a product-fit mirror, it reflects where you win most efficiently.
Envizon's 3-Layer ICP Framework:
- Problem Fit: Define the core pain you solve.
- Persona Fit: Identify who feels that pain and owns the budget.
- Priority Fit: Assess if solving that pain is urgent for them.
Use this framework to segment "possible buyers" from "profitable buyers."
"ICP isn't a spreadsheet exercise; it's a conviction exercise. The moment your outbound or content starts working 'for everyone,' you've diluted your ICP."
